A Great Joy is Coming...

...March 8, 2010!

We were trying to keep this hush-hush for a while longer, but my ever-expanding waistline had an entirely different idea. Neil, Landen, Lana and I are very excited to announce we are expecting a baby! Another Sweet Love to complete my almost perfect family. We had our first ultrasound last week and everything looks great! More than great...almost like a little bunny if you look closely. :) Neil and I have decided to try....key word being try...to not to find out the sex of the baby so we are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our new little one! I'm already so in love with this little tiny baby that's merely the size of a raspberry but already the owner of a strong heartbeat. We welcome any prayers sent our way for a healthy and uneventful pregnancy!

Life with Landen

Don't say it! I know what you're all thinking..."Finally- a new blog post." Well in my defense I've been busy. Super busy. So busy I won't even begin to list everything that has left me exhausted and scatterbrained these days. But here we go...a new post...finally.

It's been a while since I've full-on wrote about my first sweet love, Landen. Landen is almost 4!! Yes 4 on Sept. 2! I can't believe it either. We are in full swing of planning his birthday party which will be dinosaur themed per his request. (Note that dinosaur decor is not as easy to find as you'd think...unless you want ferocious looking dinosaur stuff which we do not.) Almost 4 year old Landen is all about dinosaurs, pirates, cars, airplanes, Happy Meals, playing outside, dancing (he is king of new moves), playing all kinds of sports (some that he makes up like hockey ball, and racket ball that isn't anything like real racket ball), watching out for his little sister, Spongebob, telling jokes, list goes on and on. He is still a major love bug. Always randomly showing us love, or telling us how much he loves us. I can always count on him for a cuddle. Landen talks all day long! A big stretch from when he turned 2 and barely talked at all (much like Lana now). Sometimes it's tough to get him to be quiet. He still has a bit of shyness in him but for the most part those days are behind us.
Seriously...how cute is this face?!

We are anxiously awaiting the start of preschool in September. Which brings me to his best friend. Landen has grown very fond of another little boy in our play group that will be going to preschool with him. He wakes up on Wednesday asking to go to story time at the library because we know Trevor will be there too. The boys get along so well and play great together. He asks daily to see his best friend. So very cute. Trevor has a little sister that is Lana's age so he plays that card too..."Can we play with Trevor today? My sister wants to play with his sister too." Gotta love the double team there. I'm glad Landen will have someone to hold his hand that first scary day of preschool. And I'm glad to have Trevor's mommy there to cry with me as we say goodbye to our big boys on that day too.
Here is Landen, Trevor, and another buddy from our play group waiting for story-time to begin.

I really can not believe we are on the brink of being 4! I love watching him grow and learn and discover new things. He forces me to stop and slow down and appreciate life as it comes. Love you Landen and I look forward to everyday I get to spend with you!

Java Mamas Visit the Firehouse!

Last week we went to one of the local fire stations with our play group. This was such a great idea for the kids. They got a tour of the fire station, got to sit in the firetruck, and watch a fireman get into his gear. The fireman also explained to the kids not to be afraid of him since he is there to help when there is danger.

Landen posing in front of the firetruck.

Lana was a little uneasy about posing with the fireman.

Watching the firemen go up 75 feet (about 7 stories) in the air!.

Landen was very impressed!

In the green firetruck (the kind that are for airport use).

The fireman explaining to the kids why his uniform is important.

All decked out and not scary!! Yay!

Java Mamas Visit the Dairy Farm

Summer is in full swing which means lots of great outdoor play dates! Monday we went to the local dairy farm with our playgroup. The kids had a great time!

Landen is getting so grown up!

He always holds Lana's hand (or arm) when I step away from her. Very good big bro!

This was as close as Lana wanted to get to the calf.

That cat didn't know what it was signing up for when it entered a barn filled with kids...

It was really windy out!

Landen got to give a baby calf a bottle!

That little baby hand holding onto the pen got licked by that baby calf. Lana was less than pleased. :)
